Count Down to PhoCusWright Travel Innovation Summit
We are in the final stretch to the PhoCusWright Travel Innovation Summit on November 17th, 2008. Both Phil and I will be traveling down to Los Angeles to present the latest evolution of Rezgo.com to a large audience of journalists, bloggers, investors, and potential partners. As you can imagine, we are all working really hard to make sure that the system is 110%. But what does this mean for our supplier members? How is this conference and others like it going to affect the system? Well, quite simply, Rezgo generates revenue through distribution, so our goal at PhoCusWright is to make deals with as many of the major vendors as possible, companies like Viator, Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, Amadeus, Sabre, and Travelport. But we also want to look at more non-traditional vendor opportunities like PlanetEye, Uptake, Cadabra, or even platforms like Dealbase, Adventure Central, and others.
The more relationships we can create for our member suppliers, the more distribution we can facilitate to vendors, the more vendors can sell, the more revenue our suppliers will generate and therefore we, as a company, will generate more revenue. We know that not all our supplier members are going to be ready or even want to distribute to vendors, but we do know that eventually many of our suppliers will and we want to be there to help them make that happen.
We’ve been working really hard over the last couple of years and invested a lot of our own blood, sweat, tears, and dollars into Rezgo to make it the system that it is today. The two co-founders of the company are the only financial investors in this business, but everyone who works on Rezgo has invested part of their lives in it, so we all know what is at stake. I’m really proud of the fact that we’ve spent our time focusing on delivering a powerful software product rather than hunting for the next investor dollar. In a time when investors are tightening their wallets, dropping companies from their portfolios, and looking really carefully at who they invest in, I think we are in a very good position to ride the troubled waters and succeed where many others have or will inevitably fail. By staying lean and focusing on what is really important (delivering a great technology solution for our supplier and vendor members), we will prevail through these tough economic times.
The launch of this new version of Rezgo at the PhoCusWright Conference represents a major milestone for us and I want to thank all of the members who have trusted their businesses with us over the last two years. I hope that if you think Rezgo is as good as we believe it to be, that you will spread the word and let your fellow suppliers and vendors know. Your endorsement of Rezgo is the most powerful selling tool we could hope to have. We are traveling down a path that has not been traveled before and our final destination is not yet known. What I do know is that the journey has only just begun and with over seven hundred of you (and more everyday) along for the ride, it’s going to be a fun trip.
As always, we encourage your feedback, comments, and praise. Please let us know how we are doing or what we can do to make the system better. Remember, we’re a small company made up of a great group of people who are working to help make your businesses better too. If you like Rezgo and it has had a positive impact on your business, please consider upgrading to Rezgo Pro.
