Ask all the questions you need by using Custom Forms
We have just released the custom forms feature in the Booking Server. Here is a quick synopsis of how it works. 1. In the control panel, you should see a tab in the left side bar called “Custom Forms”. This is where you create all the special questions you will ask. Remember, this is a library of ALL questions, so all the questions for all your products would be stored here. 2. Support for Deposits
The development team has just completed testing and release of the deposit feature. The tour module now supports the ability for you to set a deposit amount or percentage associated with your product. On the Edit Inventory page, look for the pricing box. Enter a deposit amount in the field marked “Deposit”. If you use the percentage symbol for example “20%”, then the deposit amount will be calculated based on 20% of the total price per person. As promised, we have now completed the updates to the system that allow you to create a new account with the Booking Server and use it indefinately at no cost. Group booking support
We have modified the database structure and XML gateway to allow for group bookings on all modules. Instead of limiting the booking size to a maximum of 15 (5 adults, 5 seniors, and 5 children), we can now accept any size group up to the availability of the item being booked. So, for example, if you offer a tour that has 25 seats, your customer can book all 25 seats at once and receive instant confirmation. Accommodation Inventory interface improvements
The accommodations inventory add and edit forms have been cleaned up considerably. Many of the redundant fields have been removed to make the user interface easier to use. In addition, we have set the “Priced per room” as the default pricing method for accommodations. Creating Multiple times for a tour
Let’s say you offer an aerial tour of Chicago and you have two seats on your plane. Each flight is one hour long and you have a half hour break between flights. So to set this up in your inventory, you would create the first flight for 9:00am to 10:00am. Using the “Add Similar” feature, create a new flight for 10:30am to 11:30am. New AJAX powered packages interface on Booking Server
The new vacation packages front-end interface has been released. The new interface includes significant updates included AJAX components for availability display. The front-end allows a customer to search for packages based on gateway (leaving from city) to a destination city. The packages are displayed and the customer can select a date for the package they want to book. If there is availability for the package, it is displayed and the “Book Now” button becomes active.
