New Blog site for Sentias Booking Server
We have just updated the blog using Blogger.com. The simplicity of Blogger and its easy publishing functions were a great fit for the site and make posting updates a breeze. We are so excited about it that we are looking into a way to integrate Blogger’s API into the Booking Server so that tour operators can create and link their blogs directly with their booking engines. We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, all the old posts have been moved the previous site and are now on the new blog, but in reverse order. Sorry about that. All new postings will appear in the right order. Read More →
Booking Server and Chambers of Commerce
We have recently started active marketing of the Booking Server with Chambers of Commerce around British Columbia. Many Chambers have asked us how the program works and I wanted to address that question here as well, so we would have a point of reference. The Sentias Booking Server Chamber Partner Program (SBSCPP) provides Chambers of Commerce with an additional revenue source without incurring undo administration or marketing costs. As an active Chamber of Commerce member, we recognized that there was a need to benefit Chambers while promoting the Booking Server. The program is modeled after... Read more »
Multiple Date/Time Inventory Items
We have been receiving a lot of feedback from Beta users who would like to have support for tour items that have multiple item slots in a day. For example, if you have a tour that runs at 9:00am, 11:00am, and 13:00pm without having to display each tour item as a seperate inventory item. We have added some modifications to the front-end to allow for this. Here is how it works… In the back-end, create your primary inventory item with all the description, image, and other information you want to display. Once you have created this item, use the “Add Similar” button in the upper... Read more »

Who should resell the Booking Server?
Many individuals have been asking who would be the best group to resell the Booking Server. Should it be webmasters, designers, consultants, developers, or travel agents. Well the short answer is… all of the above. Really, it is a question of who your target customer is and what industry they are in. Obviously if you are a webmaster and your target audience is hotel and motel owners or tour operators, then you would probably be a good fit as a reseller. The reseller program is free and, although it has taken some time, is almost completely integrated with the main Booking Server system.... Read more »
How pricing and availability rules work
Price and availability rules are part of the core functionality of the Booking Server and make up the fundamentals of the business rules engine. Here is how they work: Price RulesPrice rules affect the price of a particular inventory item during a particular period of time. They can be a percentage difference or a fixed amount. For example, if you create an inventory item that is $99 and you want it to be 5% less on Saturdays, you could create a price rule for Saturdays where the Adult price is -5% and apply it to the inventory item.
